We are currently seeking ​a Journeymen, Apprentice or a Semi Skilled Technician to become an integral part of our team! You will diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul automotive vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair automotive vehicles
  • Perform routine vehicle tune-ups and maintenance
  • Provide labor and time estimates for automotive repairs
  • Inspect and test new vehicles for necessary adjustments

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, or other related fields
  • Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Deadline and detail-orientated.

Automotive Service Advisor

Initiates automotive services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and services requested; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer rapport and records.

Duties:
* Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.

* Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.

* Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.

* Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.

* Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.

* Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Journeyman Technician

Due to expansion, the Bill Walsh Automotive Group in Ottawa, IL currently seeking Ford and Chrysler Master Technicians OR a Journeyman with the desire to become a Ford or Chrysler Master technicians, with top pay and benefits. This may be the opportunity you've been looking for! Diesel experience is a plus!

An employment signing bonus will be paid to the successful candidate.

  • Out Technicians quickly and efficiently perform routine maintenance
  • Our Technicians identify the cause of breakdowns and repair them using the most optimal solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Confer with customers or service advisors to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Perform quality inspections of vehicle repairs prior to returning the vehicle to the customer
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc
  • Communicate directly with the service advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Chrysler or Ford certification preferred but not necessary. We will train the right tech.
  • 8 ASE Certifications or 5+ years experience required
  • Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be willing to be paid flat rate on hours billed
